No time for goals: A quick exercise to get some clarity

Jan 30, 2025

Let's talk about something we hear from physicians all the time:

"I want things to be different, but I'm not even sure what I'm aiming for."

We get it. When you're busy surviving, figuring out how to clarify your own goals can feel like just another thing on the to-do list.

Let's try something different. A tiny experiment, if you will:

Take 30 seconds (yes, really - we know you're busy).
Close your eyes and travel forward six months in time:
You're walking into your everyday life, but something feels different. Better.
What's the first thing that feels lighter? What's missing that's currently exhausting you? How are you showing up differently?

No need to figure out the 'how' yet. Just let yourself imagine that future moment.

Perhaps you glimpsed a sense of calm replacing the constant rush. Maybe you felt more energy for the things that matter, or experienced clearer boundaries without the guilt. Perhaps you even imagined enjoying medicine again.

If your analytical mind is already jumping to "But HOW?"
We want you to know - this is exactly where PLB shines.

In PLB, we help busy physician moms bridge the gap between "I want things to be different" and "Wow, things ARE different." You'll transform those fuzzy feelings into clear direction, finding solutions that actually work for your real life.

You don't need to have it all figured out. That's what we're here for.

Fear in a fancy cape: Perfection looks impressive. It's usually just scared
This week, let’s talk about perfection. Perfection feels productive. It feels responsible. It feels like high standards. Really, perfectionism is fear in a fancy cape. Like the little Wizard behind the green curtains. The flavor of fear depends on the situation and your beliefs: Fear of being judged.Fear of failing.Fear of not being “enough.”Fear of a “bad” outcome- for you, your patients, your...
Permission granted: Deserving is not a future version of you
What’s really holding you back from investing in something you want?  You work hard. You show up. You’ve built success through discipline and effort.  And yet sometimes, when it comes to yourself, you hesitate.  You wait for a milestone. A bigger win. A future version of you who is “more deserving.”  It’s subtle, but it’s there. The message that you shouldn’t do something just for your own enjoy...
